Discover These Must-Visit Places in Maine and New Hampshire for Your Next Adventure
Exploring nearby places has helped me appreciate just how much our beautiful state of Maine has to offer. From scenic hikes to charming coastal towns. Here are eight of my favorite spots to explore, in no particular order.
Portland
Grabbing a latte and strolling through the city will always be one of my favorite things to do. Read the full post here for my favorite spots to eat, drink, and explore in Portland.
York
My dad and I spent the Fourth of July in York, staying right by Long Sands Beach. We filled our days with swimming, biking, and plenty of time outdoors grilling and enjoying the summer weather. Read the full post here.
Boothbay
We finally made a visit to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens located in Boothbay. After the gardens, we explored the coastal town of Boothbay Harbor for lunch, and of course, I got myself a lobster roll! Read the full post here.
Acadia National Park
We ventured out to Acadia National Park to enjoy the outdoors. We biked, hiked, enjoyed the sunset on Cadillac Mountain, and ate popovers outside at the Jordan Pond House. Read the full post here.
Popham Beach
During the summer, I went on a girls’ trip to Popham Beach. We spent the day lounging on the sand, savored a tasty dinner by the water (lobster mac and cheese, of course!), and ended the day with a cozy night at a nearby Airbnb. Read more about things to do during Maine’s summer here.
Mid-Coast Maine - Owls Head & Camden
This year my husband and I celebrated our anniversary with a weekend trip to Owls Head, Rockland, and Camden. Some of our highlights were eating pizza at the Camden Harbor, climbing up Mt. Battie, and exploring Owls Head State Park.
It was so much fun and I cannot wait to return next summer! Read the full post here.
Bethel
To celebrate the end of summer we made the trek to Bethel to hike the Table Rock Loop trail at Grafton Notch State Park. I really enjoyed this hike and would like to return again sometime in the fall! Read the full post here.
White Mountains, New Hampshire
Although the White Mountains are not in Maine, they’re just a short drive away and absolutely worth visiting, especially in the fall. We hiked the Arethusa Falls Trail in Crawford Notch State Park, where I captured some of my favorite photos of the year. The foliage was breathtaking!
