4 New Businesses in Portland, Maine That You Should Visit

The summer of 2021 has brought us new businesses in Portland, ME. From coffee, donuts, and pizza to vintage decor shops, here's a recap of some of the spots you should check out!

 

Coveside Coffee - 28 Vannah Ave, Portland, ME

Portland’s Back Cove neighborhood has a new coffee shop, Coveside Coffee. The shop serves 44 North Coffee and a mix of pastries at their walk-up window. In addition to their interior space, they also have outdoor seating in the back.

 

Monstera Vintage Decor - 28 Vannah Ave, Portland, ME

Directly underneath Coveside Coffee, you can find Monstera Vintage Decor, a hidden gem vintage store. You will find plenty of unique finds here such as vintage barware, brass, and mid-century pieces. Get your coffee fix at Coveside and then make sure to pop into the store to pick up some new home goods!

 

Il Leone - Lion's Club property on Peaks Island

Il Leone is a new outdoor wood-fired pizza pop-up on Peaks Island that serves Neapolitan-style pizza with fresh quality ingredients. They operate Wednesday-Sunday for lunch and dinner this summer through to October. The menu includes classic flavors like Margherita and "Funghi"(mushroom) pizzas as well as a specialty lobster 'za called the "Aragosta".

 

Eighty8 Donut Cafe - 225 Federal Street

Located in the Old Port, Eighty 8 has opened its second brick-and-mortar store. The business has a food truck and another location at Sugarloaf Mountain. The Portland donut cafe serves their made-to-order mini donuts 7 days a week.


Along with classic donut flavors, Eighty8 has revolving specialty bites like the "007", maple icing with bourbon cream and candied bacon, or the "Bahm Bahm", fruity pebbles topped donut. Don't forget to order a coffee by Tandem to go along with your donuts!
